We will be watching and discussing My Grandfather’s People (2011) during our next meeting. The movie addresses the 1923 forced migration of people from Cyprus to Turkey. We have an opportunity to learn from our Turkish sisters about their family histories. A reminder not to bring food, since this meeting will be held during Ramadan when fasting occurs until sunset. We welcome new and old participants. Please rsvp to Jennifer Coplon at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-424-6733.
Hosting a Turkish Family
Sisters in Spirit is launching an opportunity for CRT members to host for dinner a Turkish Cultural Center family, eager to meet Americans and practice their English. After the month of Ramadan ending on June 24th, would you be willing to welcome into your home for one evening a Turkish family? Getting together in this way builds
understanding and appreciating of each other’s culture, family histories, and customs. For more information, please contact Jennifer Coplon at email@example.com or 617-424-6733.
